LARGO, FL — The Largo Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying a driver involved in a Saturday hit-and-run crash.

According to the agency, one of its officers was pulled over in the northbound curb lane of U.S. 19 near Roosevelt Boulevard around 10:12 p.m. Saturday. The officer, who has not been identified, was parked with emergency lights on while helping a motorist with a disabled vehicle, an email from the police department said.

As the officer was helping the motorist, a vehicle, believed to be a 2006-2008 black Infinity FX 35 crossover, struck the cruiser, the email said.
