Pro-wrestling star Randy "Macho Man" Savage dies after hitting a tree head on. He was taken to Largo Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
Randy “Macho Man” Savage, pro-wrestling legend, died today in a car crash in Seminole. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Savage lost control of his car and hit a tree head on.
The crash occurred at 9:25 a.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol.
ESPN reports that he may have suffered a "medical event" before the accident. Officials cannot confirm the cause of death until an autopsy is performed.

He was traveling west on Park Boulevard and 113th Street North when he lost control of his 2009 Jeep Wrangler and went over a concrete median. His car crossed over and into the east bound lanes of Park Boulevard, went over a curb and hit a tree.
Seminole Fire Department transported Savage to where he was treated for his injuries, but died at 10:08 a.m.

Savage was 58 years old.
Savage's wife Barbara L. Poffo, 56, was a passenger in the vehicle during the crash. She is being treated for minor injuries at Bayfront Medical Center.
The couple lived in Seminole.
Savage was born on Nov. 15, 1952 as Randall Mario Poffo. His wrestling career spanned more than more than three decades. Aside from his successful career as a pro-wrestler he is notably remembered for saying, "Ooh Yeah" and for being the face for Slim Jim in commercials where he said, "Snap into a Slim Jim."
