Punkers Put on a 'Sunday Blackout' at Beer Goggles

The Guilford Blackouts' motto is to "drink beer, do some loud and fast songs, and smell like smoke by the end of each show."

Sunday night's "Hangover Show" at  was no exception as the Indianapolis punk rock band's standard order of operation was in play. 

They blasted out the power chords as well as Pabst Blue Ribbon in rapid succession.

Lead singer Jason Firebaugh, formed the Guilford Blackouts this year after playing solo gigs around Indianapolis. Firebaugh had been in a Florida-based punk band called Skylab Hoax earlier in his career and wanted to return to the kind of energy created by faster music.

Soon Firebaugh brought in Patrick McGovern on bass and Fred Ost on drums to fill out the band.

Beer Goggles continues to bring national punk rock acts to the Clearwater-Largo area and once again pulled it off without a flaw. Many punk patrons are playfully starting to refer to Beer Goggles as "The Clubhouse."

The Guilford Blackouts are currently on tour supporting their newly recorded LP, titled "Skunkape." The summer tour includes stops from Indiana through Alabama and Florida.
