Rental Properties Needed

For property owners wishing to rent single family homes and multifamily apartments to learn more about the Housing Choice Voucher program.

Several hundred individuals and families are currently searching for affordable rental apartments and single family homes from one to four bedrooms. Property owners wishing to rent single family homes and multifamily apartments can learn more about the Housing Choice Voucher program and how to rent to a voucher participant by attending a free workshop on June 18th at 3 PM. The workshop will be held at the Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA) office located at 11479 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Some of the benefits of participating as a landlord include:

Β· Ability to screen prospective tenants

Β· Use of your own standard lease agreement

Β· Ability to charge market rate security deposits

Β· Some or all of the rent paid by housing authority every month

Β· Encouragement to tenants to abide by the terms of their lease to avoid loss of rental assistance due to eviction

Areas that PCHA’s voucher participants are looking for available rental housing include all the unincorporated areas of Pinellas County as well as the cities of Largo, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Gulfport, Kenneth City, Belleair, Palm Harbor, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, and Seminole.

Property owners attending the workshop will hear firsthand how participation in the program can benefit them, as well as unit requirements, owner/tenant responsibilities, how rents are approved, and how to participate.

Interested property owners should register to attend the free landlord workshop by calling (727) 443-7684, ext. 3124 or by emailing mguevara@pinellashousing.com.

Seating is limited so calling early is encouraged.

Those property owners not able to attend the workshop can still list their rental vacancies by signing up as a property provider at http://www.floridahousingsearch.org. There is no charge to register and list vacancies on this website.
