Update: Seminole Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in House Fire

Firefighters pulled Shannon J. Mera, 42, out of her burning in Seminole. She was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Shannon J. Mera, 42, died from injuries sustained when her Seminole home caught fire around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.

Firefighters pulled Mera out of her burning home, officials said. She was transported to Largo Medical Center Indian Rocks Road location for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

She died in the hospital on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Shannon J. Mera, 42, was seriously injured when her home caught fire around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters pulled Mera out of her burning home. She was transported to Largo Medical Center Indian Rocks Road location for treatment of life-threatening injuries sustained in the fire, officials said.

Mera’s neighbors called fire rescue when they witnessed her home at 13475 San Rafael Dr in Seminole on fire, according to investigators.

Investigators say preliminary information indicates that the fire began in the master bedroom of the home.

Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue, Largo and Seminole Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshals Office assisted in putting out he fire.
