Tampa Bay area residents in the market for a part-time job that offers night, weekends and holidays off may want to check with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. The agency has announced it’s looking to fill a number of school crossing guard positions before the kids return to hit the books once more.
Candidates must have good eyesight and hearing, understand traffic laws and be able to pass background screening and a polygraph exam, the agency noted.
“The Crossing Guards are expected to remain alert at all times in order to prevent hazardous traffic situations,” an email to media stated. “They must have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and the ability to develop a positive relationship with the children. School Crossing Guards must be reliable and dependable.”
