Student Web Editor Sets Sights on Broadcasting Career

Congratulations To Largo Patch's Student of the Week: Christopher Dalbo

School: Osceola Fundamental High School

Accomplishment: Journalism and broadcasting major Christopher Dalbo earned a 4.08 weighted GPA and ranked 90th in his sophomore class.

Keys to Awesomeness: Christopher is a personable, polite and determined young man. He plans to combine his talents and education in a broadcasting career.

His grades reflect the hard work of an honors student. He earned a ranking of 90th in his sophomore class, a 4.08 weighted GPA and a 3.60 unweighted GPA. Headed into his junior year, he's determined to take college courses and continue his journalism and broadcasting major in college.

Dalbo is a talented journalist. He juggles his studies with the demands required as Web editor of his school's online newspaper, Warrior News Online.

He manages the site, assigns and oversees reporters stories, adjusts photos, uses computer coding HTML and updates the Wordpress site. Dalbo edits reporters' work and also writes occasional articles.

It's a tough job. He must work at keeping the site timely, interesting and content driven. It's a leadership position he thoroughly enjoys.

Dalbo is also involved in the print edition of the school newspaper and the school news show. He creates videos of the school sports.

Although Dalbo works online, he's not one to stay stuck behind a computer screen.

Sports are a big part of his life.

He's been in baseball leagues since he was a child. After school and on weekends, you'll likely find him outside playing in a neighborhood basketball or football game.

This summer, Dalbo hopes to intern at a local broadcast station. His dream is to land a television sports anchor position.
