Substitute Teacher Arrested For Bringing Gun To Largo School

A substitute teacher was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 23, after bringing a gun to Anona Elementary School in Largo.

LARGO, FL -- A substitute teacher was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 23, after bringing a gun to Anona Elementary School in Largo.

Jesse Jones, 31, of Oldsmar is charged with carrying a concealed firearm. Police say Jones was quickly escorted away from students by the school's security officer and police were called.

The discovery of the gun prompted a brief lock-down at the school.

Jones was released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond. The arrest will disqualify Jones from being a substitute teacher in Pinellas County.
