Suncoast Hospice Foundation Joins Give Day Tampa Bay and Encourages the Community to Give Locally on May 2

Suncoast Hospice Foundation, a member of Empath Health is proud to participate in the fourth annual Give Day Tampa Bay on May 2, 2017 and is encouraging the community to open its hearts to help bring care and compassion to others. Contributions to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation benefit the nonprofit integrated network of care and directly impact those seeking support and care services during critical phases of their lives.

Give Day Tampa Bay is a 24-hour online giving event designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in our community. This is the fourth year that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has sponsored the event, raising more than $2 million for nearly 600 Tampa Bay area nonprofits last year.

Money raised will support the Empath Health network, including Suncoast Hospice and other member organizations. The network supports anyone facing chronic or advanced illness and their families and caregivers.

“Our goal is to raise money and awareness about the care and support we provide that help ease the burden for families during the toughest time in their lives,” said Kathy Rabon, CFRE, CFRM, executive director of Suncoast Hospice Foundation. “Every dollar makes a difference. Thanks to our generous community, we can continue to support the many people in need of compassionate care,” added Rabon.

In addition to raising awareness of the participating nonprofits, Give Day Tampa Bay offers cash prizes to the participating organizations with the most donations.

New this year is the opportunity for donors to make a secure pledge in advance of May 2. From April 18-May 1, online donations made to an organization’s page will count toward the leaderboard and the overall event totals.
