Weekend Things To Do: Jan. 27-29

School House Rock, Elvis' Brithday Bash and the Circus is in town! Here are things to do for this weekend, Jan. 27-29.

Friday, Jan. 27:

  • The Kingston Trio: An American pop and folk music group which has energized audiences for decades makes a stop at the at 8 p.m. Tickets are $48.

Saturday, Jan. 28:

  • Pinellas Folk Festival: The annual event at is a celebration of Pinellas County history and music featuring bluegrass, folk, country and gospel. Games popular around the time of the county's founding along with storytelling will highlight the day. A donation of $5 is requested for those 12-years old and older.
  • TCA Toy Train Show: Let your inner engineer take over as train enthusiasts gather at the Minnreg Building. Admittance is $5 for those 12-years old and older. Children get in free.
  • Pet Tail Gate Party: OK, there's no football this weekend but that doesn't mean you cannot party. Pets can be football widows too so why not wean yourself off the football partying by tailgating with your pooch or feline or other four-legged or feathered friend. Located at the , Frisbee tossing, dog races, agility drills, an egg toss and live music will help pets and their masters bond again. Smores over an open fire will be available. A donation of $1 per each game or activity is requested. The fun begins at 3 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 29:

  • Meet David Barton: Author and historian David Barton discusses what he deems forgotten American heroes at the beginning at 9 a.m. There is no cover charge.
  • Celebrate Andrew Lloyd Webber: Various Tampa Bay area artists sing some of the best songs from the famous Broadway composer. The fun starts at 2 p.m. at the Largo Cultural Center. Cost is $25 a person.
