1 Man Dies, 2 Seriously Injured Following Crash In Dade City

DADE CITY, FL - One person died and two people were seriously injured following a crash Saturday afternoon on Old Lakeland Highway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 4 p.m. a pickup truck driven by a 51-year-old Port St. Lucie resident was heading east on U.S. 98 and stopped at the stop sign and flashing red traffic signal at the intersection of Old Lakeland Highway.

An SUV driven by a 23-year-old Brandon man was heading south on Old Lakeland Highway approaching the intersection of U.S. 98.

According to troopers, after stopping at the intersection, the pickup truck turned into the path of the SUV. The SUV overturned multiple times, ejecting all three occupants who were not wearing seat belts.

All three were taken to the hospital where one passenger, a 25-year-old Dade City man, died. The driver and a 21-year-old man from Ocala remain in serious condition.
