2 Dead Following Crash On State Road 54

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — A 25-year-old woman and a 34-year-old woman were killed Friday night following a head-on crash on State Road 54 at Ashton Oaks Boulevard in Wesley Chapel.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 10:30 p.m., a woman from Wesley Chapel was driving a car west on State Road 64 approaching Ashton Oaks Boulevard, while a 37-year-old Zephyrhills man was heading east on SR 54 in a sports utility vehicle.

For unknown reasons, the car entered the eastbound lane and collided head on with the SUV. The driver of the car and the passenger of the SUV died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries.
