21,000 Pills Worth $1 Million Recovered From Pharmacy Burglary
A Wesley Chapel man remains behind bars after being accused of burglarizing a Port Richey pharmacy, stealing nearly 44,000 pills.
PORT RICHEY, FL -- A Wesley Chapel man remains behind bars after being accused of burglarizing a Port Richey pharmacy, stealing nearly 44,000 pills.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, William Hennessey Jr. of Whaleys Loop was arrested Thursday, March 28, in connection with a March 23 break-in at the SunTrust Pharmacy, 6237 Ridge Road in Port Richey.
Detectives say Hennessey stole 43,813 assorted pills including Oxycodone, morphine, fentanyl and Clonazepam along with $16,000 to $18,000 in cash.

Their investigation led them to Hennessey. While executing a search warrant, detectives said they found some of the stolen pills in Hennessey's vehicle and in his bedroom.
Hennessey told detectives he had another bag of pills stashed at a friend's house.

In all, detectives recovered 21,000 of the stolen pills worth an estimated $1 million.
Hennessey is being held on a $50,000 bond.
