23-Year-Old Brooksville Man Killed In I-75 Crash Sunday

A 23-year-old Brooksville man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his Toyota Tacoma pickup on Interstate 75 south of Blanton Road.

DADE CITY, FL -- A 23-year-old Brooksville man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his Toyota Tacoma pickup on Interstate 75 south of Blanton Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Quinten Lance Perez was traveling north on I-75 at 2:15 a.m. April 28 when he swerved onto the outside shoulder and over-corrected, sending the Toyota across all lanes of I-75 before colliding with a guardrail.

The truck overturned and came to rest across the inside and center lanes. The passenger, Weston Sam Reyolds, 21, of Masaryktown became trapped in the vehicle and all northbound lanes had to be shut down until 7 a.m. while he was extricated.

Perez died at the scene. Reynolds was hospitalized with serious injuries.
