3 Zephyrhills Children Seriously Injured In U.S. 301 Crash
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on U.S. 301 that has left one child with critical injuries.

THONOTOSASSA, FL -- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on U.S. 301 that has left one child with critical injuries and two other children with serious injuries.
According to troopers, Vladimir Carvajal. 43,. of Tampa was driving a dump truck north on U.S. 301 south of Stacy Road in Hillsborough County on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 6:23 a.m. when he failed to see traffic stopped ahead until the last minute.
He tried to avoid crashing by braking and steering to the left but collided with the rear of a 2017 Kia driven by Lisa D. Davis, 53, of Tampa. The dump truck then continued in the southbound lane of U.S. 301 where it hit a Ford Explorer driven by Aimee L. Lopez head, 40, of Zephyrhills head on.

Lopez had her three children in the Explorer with her. She and two of the children were taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries. The third child is in critical condition.
