82-Year-Old Woman Dies Following Crash On SR 56

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — An 82-year-old woman has died following a crash Tuesday on State Road 56 and Morris Bridge Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:49 a.m., Kelsey Ann Koenig, 27, of Wesley Chapel was driving a pickup truck south on Morris Bridge Road.

Beverly Sue Fox, 56, of Tampa, was driving a Hyundai north on Morris Bridge Road.

Troopers said Koenig turned left with a flashing yellow traffic signal into the path of the Hyundai, which had a green light.

Fox and her passenger, Verla M. Martinek, 82, of Hawk Point, Missouri, were taken to AdventHealth where Martinek died from her injuries. Fox was listed in serious condition.

Charges against Koenig are pending.
