84-Year-Old Wrong-Way Driver Hits, Kills Motorcyclist On I-75
A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Clearwater died following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 near County Line Road.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Clearwater died following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 near County Line Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday, a Lincoln Town Car driven by Elide S. Tamany, 84, of Tampa was traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-75 after completing a U-turn from the I-275 entrance ramp leading to northbound I-75.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jamie Vasean Johnson was traveling north on I-75 near the 274 milepost when Tamayo collided with Johnson head on.

Johnson died at the scene.
Tamayo was transported to AdventHealth with serious injuries.
