Lutz borders the northwestern portion of Hillsborough County and extends partially into Pasco County where it meets Land O’ Lakes. Lutz was named after the old “Lutz Station” which was a small train station connecting Tarpon Springs, Brooksville, and other Tampa areas. The train obviously no longer runs but in downtown you can still see a replica of this old train depot. The history of this town really adds to the charm of Lutz. This city consists of many family owned small businesses, restaurants, and shopping stores. These residents enjoy this small town feel, yet find that they are still close enough to enjoy all the conveniences of the surrounding larger cities. The real estate in Lutz directly portrays that of the town but does range from properties with acreage to lakefront luxury properties to newer master planned deed restricted communities. Whether you are searching for a well-established home or a new construction homes this city really has it all!
