DADE CITY, FL -- Two brothers are in custody following a pursuit in which one of the brothers reportedly tried to ram a Pasco County Sheriff's cruiser.

On Friday, Nov. 30, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office received information that Adam Alexander, 27, was in the Dade City area.

There's a warrant for Alexander's arrest for an attempted homicide on Sept. 19 at the Rainbow Hotel on U.S. 301 in Dade City. Alexander reportedly shot and wounded an acquaintance at the hotel.

A deputy drove by Alexander's home on Bryon Street in Dade City and saw Alexander in a vehicle driven by his brother, Luis Alexander, 33, of Deer Creek Drive in Zephyrhills.

Pasco County deputies and Dade City Police responded and attempted to pull the vehicle over when it ran a stop sign but the vehicle drove away at a high speed. At one point Luis Alexander reportedly tried to ram a deputy's cruiser but the deputy accelerated to avoid the collision.

Deputies then deployed stop sticks to deflate the vehicle's tires near downtown Dade City. When the vehicle came to a stop, both brothers fled on foot.

They were caught a short distance away off U.S. 301. The vehicle was searched and deputies found a stolen firearm, methamphetamine packaged for sale and crack cocaine. Both brothers were arrested.
