Cypress Creek Middle/High Student Charged With School Threat

A 15-year-old Cypress Creek Middle School student was arrested for sending a social media message threatening to shoot up the school.

DADE CITY, FL – Pasco County Sheriff Deputies have arrested a 15-year-old Cypress Creek Middle/High School student for sending a social media message to another student on Friday, May 11, threatening to “shoot up the school.”

The statement was accompanied by photos of Parkland school shooter Nicholas Cruz and a black handgun.

The message was forwarded to a school administrator at Cypress Creek Middle/High School, 8701 Old Pasco Road, Wesley Chapel. When the teen girl, who lives in Dade City, was questioned, she insisted that the message was a joke. Deputies searched her home but could find no weapons.
