Dade City Family Loses Dog, Home In Fire

A Dade City family lost their dog and their home when their house caught fire Thursday, Feb. 14.

DADE CITY, FL -- A Dade City family lost their dog and their home when their house in the 13600 block of Duck Lake Canal Road caught fire Thursday, Feb. 14.

Flames and smoke were coming from the living room of the home when Pasco County firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters were able to douse the fire in 10 minutes but it wasn't soon enough to save a dog inside.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family with temporary lodgings.
