Dade City Man Dies In Crash On U.S. 301

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 40-year-old Dade City man has died following a crash on U.S. 301 near Primo Drive, north of Dade City.

At 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, Fernando Hernandez-Lara was driving a Chevrolet HHR south on U. S. 301 just north of Primo Drive when he lost control and entered the path of a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Michael T. Burnett, 74, of Brooksville.

Hernandez-Lara's vehicle burst into flames, and he died at the scene.

Burnett was taken to Lakeland Regional Health with minor injuries.

On the other side of the county, two passengers on a Pasco County Public Transportation bus and the driver of a pickup truck were injured Monday when the bus and pickup truck collided on northbound U.S. 19 at Denton Way.

The three injured people were transported to the hospital.
