FL Bicyclist In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Driver

LUTZ, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist hospitalized with serious injuries.

On March 19 at 5:10 a.m., a driver was traveling south on Dale Mabry Highway south of U.S. 41 when it overtook and collided with a bicyclist who was riding along the outside shoulder of the road.

The vehicle then fled the scene.

A motorcycle ridden by a 57-year-old Brooksville man was heading south moments later and also crashed into the bicyclist, a 31-year-old man from Land O' Lakes.

There is no description of the vehicle that fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the highway patrol at *FHP or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
