I've had the good fortune of getting a solid concrete outdoor umbrella stand there for a mere $8.00. I left the umbrella at Friends and Neighbors because I didn't need it. Now I get to return the hollow plastic stand I paid $8.00 for to a big box store. A few months ago and in a hurry, I picked up a repurposed and refinished solid wood desk at Friends and Neighbors, and they delivered it the same afternoon. It is exactly what and when we needed it. Recently, while hot on the Guv'na campaign trail and begging for donations, Sandy quite generously offered gift certificates to help the community. As she filled them out, I happened to look down and there were two brand new, and still in the box, small party helium tanks just perfect for filling "I Choose" balloons. I paid less than half of what I had just priced them for at a party and big box store.
