Hillsborough Schools Give Up Snail Mail For Final Report Cards

Parents of middle and high school students don't have to wait for the mail to find out their kids' final grades this year.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County parents tired of waiting on the mail to find out their children’s final grades will have a new way to retrieve report cards this year.

Starting with the final report card of the 2015-16 school year, parents of middle and high school students will be able to access the information online. In fact, the new online report card “will replace the previously mailed final report card,” Hillsborough County Schools explained on its website.

Parents will be able to access their children’s report cards through the district website, mySPOT and Edsby, the district said. To make sure the information contained in the report cards remains confidential students will be given a letter that contains a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from their schools.

“Parents will need this PIN, along with other student specific information to access the online report card,” the district noted.

Parents will be notified when report cards are available via a phone call, email and/or text message, the district said The information will be pulled from student emergency information cards. Parents who have had changes to their information, including phone number or email address, should notify their child’s school.
