Hot Rods Serves Up Last Plate Tonight
The popular Lutz restaurant is closing its doors tonight, May 2.
After 17 years of serving up barbecue, burgers, bat and fried Spam, Hot Rods BBQ in Lutz is closing its door.
It’s not going out without a bang, however.
Owners plan a thank-you celebration for customers today, May 2, from 1 to 9 p.m. In addition to food and drinks, attendees will also get some entertainment courtesy of JT Curtis.

“It’s a big loss to the community,” said Curtis, a son-in-law to Hot Rods' owner Rod Gaudin. Curtis will perform at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Curtis, who has performed at the Livingston Avenue business “a bunch” of times over the course of its 17-year history, said the farewell gig is bittersweet: He is glad to help, but sad to see the business go.
