Lutz Business Close-Up: Flip Flop Embroidery Shoppe

Owner Stephanie Ensor cranks up the rhinestone machine and talks about how gymnastics team pride launched a successful business.

When it comes to promotional products, the sky is almost the limit.

"Pretty much you can put your logo on anything," says Stephanie Ensor, who owns Flip Flop Embroidery Shoppe in Lutz.

The home-based Lutz business does embroidery, rhinestone apparel and design as well as promotional products, including shirts, pens, water bottles, sunglasses and nail files. The 5-year-old shop was started when Ensor, who was a gymnastics mom, decided to make some spirit wear.

"My daughter was a gymnist and ... I decided to just get a small embroidery machine and make a couple shirts. Well, about three weeks into it, I realized a small machine wasn't going to do it and I needed something more. So we got a bigger machine and we just kept growing the business. Primarily our business is with other companies supplying them with their promotional products."

Lutz Patch swung by Flip Flop's digs recently to chat with Ensor, who is also a former Lutz Guv'na.
