Lutz Man Accused Of Tasering 17-Year-Old Boy As Punishment

LUTZ, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Lutz man accused of tasering a 17-year-old boy after the teen laughed at him when he tried disciplining him with a belt.

On Monday, deputies arrested Waren Gibson, 50, of Candlestick Court in Lutz after receiving a complaint that he had used a taser to discipline a teen in his home.

Gibson admitted to deputies that he'd used a taser on the boy's left thigh over his shorts on one occasion on May 9. Gibson said he'd tried disciplining the misbehaving teen by spanking him on the butt with a belt but the teen just laughed at him.

The two brief contacts with the taser left no marks on the teen.

Gibson was charged with child abuse and transported to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.
