Lutz Mother Faces Multiple Counts Of Child Neglect
A 39-year-old Lutz woman is facing multiple charges of failing to supervise her children properly.

LUTZ, FL -- A 39-year-old Lutz woman is facing multiple charges of failing to supervise her children properly.
On Oct. 28, Pasco County Sheriff's deputies say Jacklin Ortiz left her 3-year-old and 1-year-old alone at their home on Cypress Trail Drive while she drove to the bus stop to pick up another child. The 3-year-old got out of the house and was walking in the rain when a neighbor found him.
On Nov. 1, deputies say Ortiz fell asleep, leaving her children unsupervised. Once again, the 3-year-old was witnessed outside by the neighbors who called the sheriff`s office. The child was still outside playing with toys near the street without supervision when deputies arrived. It took a concerted effort by deputies to wake Ortiz up, who was asleep on the couch.

She told deputies that she put a cable around the door so the children couldn't open it but the 3-year-old was able to untie it. She's been charged with child neglect.
