Lutz Motorcyclist Dead Following Crash with Bus

A 23-year-old Lutz motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a HARTline bus on Sinclair Hills Road in Lutz April 4.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say Andrew Kryvanis of Staggs Leap Drive in Lutz was taken to Tampa General Hospital after the crash, but died later from his injuries.

The accident happened around 6:42 a.m. Thursday as a HART bus was pulling away from a stop on Sinclair Hills Road, just west of Livingston Avenue. The bus made a stop for oncoming traffic at 24^th Street and was attempting to make a left turn to go south when a Honda motorcycle driven by Kryvanis crossed the double-yellow painted safety zone and tried to go around traffic, a sheriff’s office media release said.

Kryvanis, who was wearing a helmet and eye protection, was struck by the bus as it started to make its left turn, the release said.

Carlos Lugo, the driver of the bus, and passengers Jean Mentado and Jason Freel were uninjured, the release said.
