Man Charged In Armed Carjacking In Zephyrhills

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 37-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of an armed carjacking in Zephyrhills.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday, Nov. 23, Shawn Smith, who is transient, approached a man in a vehicle on Daughtery Road, pulled out a 10-inch knife and forced his way into the driver's seat. He then drove a short distance before shoving the victim out of the vehicle.

Smith was later apprehended and taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where his bond was set at $50,000.
