Man Fatally Shot While Breaking Into Odessa Home
Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who broke into an Odessa home.

ODESSA, FL β Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who broke into an Odessa home.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were called to a home in the 10000 block of Grove Lane in Odessa for a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies found a man dead inside the home. The resident said the intruder broke a window at the back of the house to gain entry. That's when the resident confronted and shot him.

Upon further questioning, deputies learned that the resident and shooter are related and there is a history of domestic violence between the shooter and other people who live in the home.
Three other adults, an elderly woman and two friends of the shooter, were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

The shooter is cooperating with detectives. No arrests have been made at this time. The sheriff's office will consult with the State Attorney's Office to determine if the Stand Your Ground law applies in this case.
The identities of those involved have not been released by the sheriff's office.
