Fort Myers Man Fatally Shot At Zephyrhills Youth Football Game

Pasco Sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal shooting at the Samuel Pasco Athletic Park at 39835 Chancey Road, Zephyrhills, Sunday.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL —Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of those involved in the fatal shooting of a Fort Myers man at the Samuel Pasco Athletic Park, 39835 Chancey Road, Zephyrhills, on Saturday.

The shooters were believed to be driving a white four-door sedan. They are Black males wearing dark clothing. They may be from the Fort Myers area. Deputies are working to obtain a better description, which will be shared when obtained.

The Pasco County Consolidated Communications Center received the call at 12:57 p.m. Investigators said it appears the dead man was targeted.

The family of the victim from has waived Marsy's Law protections, along with any other provisions protecting victims of homicide, and has identified the victim as Carl Branch, 32, of Fort Myers. He was shot and killed in the parking lot area while a youth football tournament was in progress.

Preliminary information indicates that Branch was targeted for unknown reasons and that this incident was not a random act. At this time, there is no threat to the public.
