Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Parked SUV In Zephyrhills

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL -- A 49-year-old motorcyclist from Seffner was killed Sunday, Feb. 3, after colliding with a parked SUV in Zephyrhills.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:41 p.m., John Anthony Lopez was riding his motorcycle south on Larch Drive, approaching Wisteria Drive, when, for unknown reasons, he failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a GMC Sierra parked in a driveway.

The impact propelled the motorcycle into a closed garage door, which then struck two more vehicles.

Lopez was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where he died.
