Ohio Man Dies 4 Days After Crash On Interstate 75 In Pasco County

SAN ANTONIO, FL — A 19-year-old man from Findlay, Ohio, died Wednesday due to injuries from a crash on Dec. 3 at Interstate 75 and State Road 52.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 10:27 p.m. a car driven by a 19-year-old Jacksonville man was heading south on I-75 south of State Road 52 when the driver lost control while changing lanes at a high speed.

Troopers said the car rotated across the highway and struck the rear of a car stopped along the paved shoulder where it caught fire. The car on the shoulder, driven by a 31-year-old Marianna man, was thrown onto the grass shoulder where it overturned.

A 16-year-old and 19-year-old man, both of Jacksonville, who were passengers in the first car, suffered serious injuries. The 19-year-old driver and a 20-year-old woman passenger suffered minor injuries.

The fourth passenger from Ohio was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died four days later.
