One Person Dies After Driving Into Pond In Wesley Chapel

One person died when a single-occupant car drove into a retention pond at the intersection of State Road 54 and Gateway Boulevard.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- One person died when a single-occupant car drove into a retention pond at the intersection of State Road 54 and Gateway Boulevard in Wesley Chapel Thursday.

According the Pasco County Fire Rescue, firefighters entered the water in an attempt to save the person in the car but the person was already dead when they reached the car.
