ZEPHYRHILLS, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 57-year-old Zephyrhills man after they say he made a homemade gun that was used in an assault last year.

Robert Wayne Miller of Ruth Avenue was charged Thursday for making the gun that was used Aug. 28 in a domestic aggravated assault. James Stearns was charged with firing a round from the homemade gun into the ground near his adult son during an argument.

Miller said making the gun "was easy." He said he got the instructions off the Internet. He then left the gun with Stearns, who is an acquaintance. He was returning to Stearns' home to retrieve the gun when Stearns fired it at the ground, according to deputies.
