Pasco Motorcyclist Killed After Hitting Armadillo, Losing Control

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Zephyrhills died after hitting an armadillo in the road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Thursday at 10:20 a.m., the motorcyclist was heading north on Eiland Boulevard approaching Handcart Road when an armadillo crossed into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist struck the animal and then lost control. The motorcycle overturned, and the rider was thrown. He died at the crash scene.
