Pasco Substitute Teacher Arrested Following Bar Fight

A Pasco County substitute teacher has been charged with simple battery after getting into a fight at Whiskey Joe's Sports Bar.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A Pasco County substitute teacher has been charged with simple battery after getting into a fight at Whiskey Joe's Sports Bar in Wesley Chapel.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Jason Michael Mills, 38, of Arrowgrass Drive in Wesley Chapel was in Whiskey Joe's at 27417 Wesley Chapel Blvd. on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2:07 a.m. when he became engaged in a verbal altercation with a bartender and a bouncer.

According to the sheriff's office, Mills attempted to strike the bouncer. The bouncer returned the punch and Mills fell to the ground.

Deputies said Mills was extremely intoxicated and belligerent when the deputies arrived.. He was taken for medical clearance and then booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.

Mills works as a substitute teacher for the Pasco County School District.
