Skipper's Smokehouse Targeted By Armed Burglar

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are looking for help identifying the man believed to be responsible.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help identifying a man its deputies say pried open an ATM machine at Skipper’s Smokehouse on Sunday.

According to the agency, the man entered the 910 Skipper Road restaurant around 3 a.m. and pried open the machine. After helping himself to the cash inside, the man left.

Deputies say their suspect is a tall, white male with short, dark hair. He was wearing a hat and had a bandana covering his face. The man also wore gloves, had a holstered black pistol on his belt and was wearing long pants and a light colored, long-sleeve shirt on the morning of the crime. The suspect was also toting a large backpack on his back and had a head-band flashlight affixed to his head.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect in the video is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Those interested in being eligible for a possible cash reward may also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477. Tips are also accepted online at www.crimestopperstb.com or via the P3 Tips Mobile app. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters must call Crime Stoppers.
