Tampa Man Dies In Fiery Crash After Car Breaks Down On U.S. 301

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 23-year-old Tampa man has died following a crash Monday night on U.S. 301 at Chancey Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 11:58 p.m., a pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old Delaware man was heading north on U.S. 301, north of Chancey Road, when he failed to see a disabled car parked partially in the travel lane and partially on the shoulder.

The truck hit the rear of the car, propelling the car to the grass shoulder where it caught fire.

The pickup truck rotated and overturned.

The driver of the car died at the scene. The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
