Wesley Chapel Homes Evacuated Due To Gas Leak

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- Pasco County Fire Rescue evacuated 15 homes in the Brookside neighborhood Wednesday around 2 p.m. due to a gas leak in the 5600 block of Killian Path in Wesley Chapel.

Contractors were removing trees and didn't realize the roots of one tree were wrapped around the main gas line for the subdivision. When the contractors pushed over the tree, it ruptured the line causing the leak.

As a result of the size of the gas line, Pasco Fire Rescue evacuated nearby homes until the gas line could be repaired by TECO workers.
