Wesley Chapel Man Charged With Inappropriately Touching Girl

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A 43-year-old Wesley Chapel man was arrested Nov. 28 after being accused of inappropriately touching a 5-year-old girl.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Clyde William Wilkes is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of 12.

According to the sheriff's office, the 5-year-old girl told a caretaker on Nov. 19 that Wilkes inappropriately touched her. She repeated the allegations to a deputy and the Pasco Child Protection Team.

When interviewed, Wilkes denied the allegations at first. Then he said he may have touched the girl by accident. Finally, he told detectives he did not remember.

He was booked into the Land O' Lake Detention Center where he was being held without bail.
