Wesley Chapel Man Dies After 2 Motorcycles Crash In Dade City

DADE CITY, FL — A 48-year-old Wesley Chapel man died Sunday after crashing into another motorcycle.

At 10 a.m., a 34-year-old St. Petersburg man was riding his motorcycle north on Jessamine Road, approaching Amberlea Road. The Wesley Chapel motorcyclist was riding behind him.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Wesley Chapel motorcyclist overtook the St. Petersburg man, passing him on the left. When he tried to reenter the northbound lane in front of the St. Petersburg man, the two motorcycles collided.

Both motorcycles flipped over. The men were taken to the hospital where the Wesley Chapel man died and the St. Petersburg man is being treated for serious injuries.
