"At North Tampa Christian Academy, we provide a strong academic foundation within a project-based learning environment," said Sandra Doran, North Tampa Christian Academy founding head of school. "We want our students to think, choose, create and solve for God's glory. We plan to be enriched by, and to enrich our community."
Doran said the school is committed to Christian ideals, academic excellence and innovative teaching and learning.
"NTCA Learning Environments are strategically designed with a strong focus on three key areas," she said. "The first includes harmony with nature by creating a learning environment that fosters appreciation of beauty and the natural environment. This creates a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces- including learning terraces, gardens, shaded reading areas, nature trails and play fields."
The second area is collaboration with the community.
"The design features foster collaboration for both the teaching and learning environments," she said. "The goal of creating these spaces create a focus on real-world experiences and service to others."
And, finally, Doran said the school will focus on feeding the student's mind, body and spirit.
"NTCA believes in education that honors the students," she said. "The campus is designed to go beyond learning simply for the sake of intellectual growth by promoting a balanced development of the whole person -- spiritually, intellectually, socially and emotionally."
That philosophy is one that's shared by Florida Hospital, said said Schultz, president and CEO of the West Florida Division of Adventist Health System, Florida Hospital's parent company.
"At Florida Hospital, we treat the whole person by delivering faith-based care to this community," he said. "We've seen a tremendous amount of growth in this area and there is need for an innovative school such as North Tampa Christian Academy. This school has a unique balanced learning curriculum and prepares tomorrow's leaders for success. Florida Hospital is excited to become the school's official health and wellness partner to help educate and inspire students of all ages."
Doran seconded those comments.
"We are so thrilled to have Florida Hospital joining us as our official health and wellness partner," she said. "Our core values truly align and it's all about the students, providing them unique healthcare opportunities both in and outside the classroom setting,"
The West Florida Division of Adventist Health System is currently comprised of nine acute-care hospitals including Florida Hospital Carrollwood, Florida Hospital Dade City, Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center Lake Placid, Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center Sebring, Florida Hospital North Pinellas, Florida Hospital Tampa, Florida Hospital Wauchula, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, as well as two freestanding off-site emergency rooms including Florida Hospital Central Pasco ER and Florida Hospital Palm Harbor ER.
Additionally, it has one post-acute care facility, Florida Hospital at Connerton Long-Term Acute Care, more than 45 multi-specialty Florida Hospital Physician Group practices, 15 Florida Hospital Express Care at Walgreens clinics and six Florida Hospital Centra Care Urgent Care Centers.
