Wesley Chapel Woman Dies Days After Being Struck By Dump Truck
A 67-year-old Wesley Chapel woman died Friday from injuries suffered in an accident involving a Mack dump truck Tuesday.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — A 67-year-old Wesley Chapel woman died Friday from injuries suffered in an accident involving a Mack dump truck Tuesday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the dump truck driven by a 34-year-old Lutz man was heading east on State Road 52 just west of U.S. 41 at 2:40 p.m.
The Wesley Chapel woman was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry west on SR 52 and a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by an 18-year-old Spring Hill woman, was stopped for traffic on eastbound SR 52 ahead of the dump truck.

According to troopers, the dump truck driver didn't see the traffic stopped ahead until it was too late. He slammed on the brakes and lost control. The truck rotated into the westbound lane and struck the left front of the Camry. The Camry was propelled into the Jeep before coming to a stop on the shoulder of SR 52.
Both the Wesley Chapel woman and her 63-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital. The passenger remains in serious condition.
