Wiregrass High Student Arrested For Threatening School Shooting

A 17-year-old Wiregrass Ranch High School student has been arrested for making threats to shoot up his school.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A 17-year-old Wiregrass Ranch High School student has been arrested for making threats to shoot up his school.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said the Wesley Chapel teen stated on Monday that he was going to "shoot it up," referring to the school, "and everybody in it."

The threat was heard by a teacher and assistant principal.

The student later said he wasn't serious and didn't have access to a firearm. Nevertheless, he was charged with making a false report to use firearms at a school.
