WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — A 39-year-old North Carolina woman was killed when she was struck by a car while walking on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 7:18 a.m. Sunday, Daniel Scott Horwitz, 51, of Wesley Chapel was driving a Toyota Corolla north on Bruce B. Downs north of State Road 56 when a woman walked in front of his car.

She was taken to AdventHealth Wesley Chapel where she died.
