Zephyrhills Father Shot By Suspect Demanding To See Daughter

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting of a man at 4841 Huron St. in Zephyrhills Saturday, April 7.

According to sheriff’s reports, Johnaton Ramdath, 24, of 37236 Oak St., Dade City, showed up at Zephyrhills home demanding to see a 16-year-old girl who lives there. The girl’s father, Roger Lee Dean, 51, told the visitor to leave several times. That’s when Ramdath reportedly pulled a gun from his waistband and fired a shot at the Dean, striking him in lower right calf.

The shooter then fled the scene, possibly on a moped. He was later taken into custody and admitted to shooting Dean.

Dean was flown to an area hospital for treatment.
