Zephyrhills Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter Following Crash

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 36-year-old Zephyrhills man has been charged with DUI manslaughter after the Florida Highway Patrol said he ran a stop sign and collided with a 70-year-old Michigan resident Friday.

Troopers say Alan Jerdan was under the influence of drugs when he ran a stop sign in his Lincoln MKZ at the intersection of Lynbrook Drive and Old Lakeland Highway at 5:25 p.m. Dec. 27.

According to the FHP, Jerdan collided with the left side of a Ford F150 pickup truck driven by Donn Mosier of Vandalia, Michigan. The pickup truck rotated and overturned, ejecting Mosier, who was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital where he died.

Jerdan was treated for minor injuries at AdventHealth Zephyrhills.
